My kids are outside burning post-dinner energy on the trampoline. They're playing a game we made up called "mummy, mummy, come alive." At least, I think we made it up. At any rate, it calls for counting to five.

Just for the record . . . Middle can count to ten in 5 languages . . . not that it's a red letter accomplishment or anything . . . counting is ONE of the mechanisms that I taught her to get through strength at gymnastics. When the going gets tough, she counts. When it gets REALLY tough, she counts in a foreign language.
